Power Training session for strength and stability @ RK Speed
March 14th, 2017
Power training enables an athlete to apply the greatest amount of their maximal strength in the shortest period of time. This is a crucial stage for skaters when they build aptitude to produce maximal forces while going for professional speed skating. The goal of power training is to increase the rate of force production for skaters.
Most athletic activities involve far faster movements and far higher power outputs than one can imagine. An athlete can be exceptionally strong but lack significant explosive power if they are unable to apply their strength rapidly.
At RK Speed, fitness trainers outlines the various methods of power training, their parameters and how they can be used to convert maximal strength into speed skating power.
